Nurturing Families Network
The goals of this federally funded evidence-based voluntary home visiting program for pregnant women and families from Torrington and Winchester are to: improve maternal and child health, prevent child abuse and neglect, encourage positive parenting, and promote child development and school readiness. There are monthly Group Connections and a fathering home visitor to serve fathers and stepdads.

Western Connecticut State University Childcare Center
An accredited National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) program, providing high quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children ages three to five. Two-thirds of the enrollment is comprised of children of university staff and students, with one-third of children from the surrounding community.

EdAdvance Center For Children's Therapy
The Center for Children's Therapy (CCT) is designed to provide convenient, high quality occupational, physical and speech-language therapy services to children from birth to age 21 at an affordable cost. CCT, a partnership with Brooker Memorial, provides a sliding fee structure and accepts HUSKY and private insurance. It is conveniently located in the Brooker Memorial facility at 157 Litchfield Street in Torrington.

Family Resource Centers
School-based family support programs in Torrington and Plymouth, which work to integrate families into the elementary schools. Family Resource Centers services include: child care, preschool, playgroups for infants through 5 years, before and after school care for school age children, home visitation to families, parent support, adult education and family literacy, resource and referral, support for family child care providers, and positive youth development.

McKinney-Vento Homeless Outreach Program
Through a strong partnership with the Torrington Public School District, EdAdvance's grant funded Homeless Outreach Coordinator works directly with school social workers and community providers to support the unique and varied needs of children and youth experiencing homelessness so they come to school ready to learn. The program is designed to build on the normalcy and stability of the school environment in order to overcome barriers to educational engagement. In addition, the Homeless Outreach Coordinator partners with area school districts to ensure compliance with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
