After School Outdoor Learning Adventures

After School Outdoor Learning Adventures (ASOLA) is an exciting enrichment program for students in grades 2 and 3 from Bristol and Hartford. The program takes place Thursday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 at Indian Rock Nature Preserve in Bristol. There are two separate sessions, one in fall and one in spring. Registration forms are available from program teachers at each participating school.

At the program, students enjoy fun environmental science activities. ASOLA provides students a safe, fun outdoor learning environment where students meet new friends and play games with the support of caring teachers and environmental educators.

Blue Science

Blue Science is an innovative, high-interest approach to teaching about the local watershed, overall environmental health, and how inland communities impact Long Island Sound. This NOAA-funded project uses local habitats and the western end of Long Island Sound as its science and social studies classroom in nature for studying true local environmental issues that impact the watershed and coastal ecosystems. Currently, middle schools from Danbury participate in Blue Science.
