Litchfield County Child Care Network
October 28th, 2019
Members of the Litchfield County Family Child Care Network attend a meeting at the Torrington Chamber of Commerce.
EdAdvance has worked collaboratively with the Office of Early Childhood (OEC) over the past year to form the first ever Litchfield County Family Child Care Network. This special OEC grant-funded project supports twenty-seven family child care providers in northwest Connecticut through professional development and best practices in business. The network has created ongoing opportunities for family child care providers to connect with each other and with EdAdvance and other community-based resources and expertise to enhance the quality of their programs.
Members of the Litchfield County Family Child Care Network have participated in a series of professional development programs focused on infant, toddler, and child development; social and emotional development; and promoting school readiness. Safety trainings, fingerprinting assistance, hiring support, and social media training have also been provided as business support initiatives.
The Litchfield County Family Child Care Network’s next meeting is November 19, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Torrington Chamber of Commerce. Providers interested in joining the Network are invited to attend.
Michelle Anderson, EdAdvance Director of Early Childhood and Family Programs, and the Network’s lead facilitator commented, “This support from the CT Office of Early Childhood has enabled Family Child Care Providers in the northwest corner to enrich the quality of services to infants and young children while implementing improved business practices. The members of the Network are incredibly dedicated to the healthy development of infants and children under their care, in full partnership with their families.”
