    Expo Fest is the ultimate challenge project competition experience for high school students engaged in innovative, cutting-edge STEM, new media, and entrepreneurship education programs developed by Skills21 at EdAdvance in collaboration with 44 schools statewide.

  • Mental Health First Aid Certification Training Offered to Public


     The nationally recognized Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Training certification program will be offered on the evenings of May 9 & 11 at EdAdvance (formerly known as Education Connection), 355 Goshen Road in Litchfield.  There is no charge for this program and the public is invited to participate.

  • Registration is Now Open for EdAdvance School Age Programs’ 2017-18 BASES School Year and 2017 Summer Adventure Programs


    Registration for the 2017 - 2018 BASES (Before and After School Enrichment Services) is now open! EdAdvance’s School Age Programs provide safe, healthy, and enriching before and after school programs for elementary and middle school students within their own school district during the school year. Parents can enjoy peace of mind knowing that their child is receiving quality, affordable care that is tailored to their developmental needs and seamlessly integrated with diverse academic and social enrichment experiences. 

  • New Autism-Related Services at the Center for Children’s Therapy


    The Center for Children’s Therapy (CCT) located at the Maria Seymour Brooker Memorial, Inc. (Brooker Memorial) in Torrington, provides individualized therapy services tailored to each child’s specific needs across all stages of development. Available therapy services include occupational, physical, speech-language, and most recently, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. ABA therapy is often recommended for children who have deficits in their ability to process social interactions with others, such as children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).

  • Area Student Capstone Projects Win at CT History Day Regional Competition


    Five teams from EdAdvance’s student interdistrict enrichment program, Civil Rights Stories, recently received top honors for their Capstone Projects at the Connecticut History Day Regional Competition.  The teams will now advance to the Connecticut State Competition on April 29th at Central Connecticut State University.

  • Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and EdAdvance Partner to Support Early Childhood Development in the Northwest Corner


    For the second year, Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and EdAdvance are working together to boost early childhood development and parent engagement in northwest Litchfield County through trainings and professional development for the region’s nonprofit child care providers.


  • EdAdvance and CABE Co-Sponsor Regional Leadership Forums


    EdAdvance, the Regional Educational Service Center (RESC) in western CT, and the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE) recently convened two Regional Leadership Forums in western Connecticut. The first forum was held at EdAdvance’s campus in Litchfield on December 7th and the second forum was held at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown on December 9th. A broad spectrum of education and community stakeholders, including school superintendents, board of education and town/city leadership, regional councils of government, and elected local and state officials participated in these two inaugural events. The purpose of the forums was to engage in a community conversation about strategies for improving education in our region in an era of fiscal crisis.

  • Skills21 Launches School Fuel Digital Learning Project at Litchfield Center School


    Skills21 at EdAdvance (formerly Education Connection) is pleased to announce the launch of School Fuel, a new digital learning project at the Center School in Litchfield this fall. Thanks to grant support from the Seherr-Thoss Foundation of Litchfield, this leading-edge technology program will equip over 35 young learners and their families with tools to navigate tablets and applications. The School Fuel project focuses on three important needs seen among both learners and parents in the 21st century.
