April 9th, 2020
EdAdvance Early Childhood and Family Programs is a recipient of grant funding from the Northwest CT Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund and the Northwest Corner Fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. An award of $1,000 will directly provide support to families in need in northwestern Connecticut and $1,200 will assist the Litchfield County Family Child Care Network in providing child care subsidies.
EdAdvance provides comprehensive early learning and parenting services and supports for young children and their families, which are continuing remotely during the current COVID-19 crisis. Michelle Anderson, Director of Early Childhood & Family Programs commented, “We are so grateful for this support, as it is our goal to make sure children and their families remain connected to the services and assistance they so desperately need during this period. Many child care centers and family child care homes are also struggling during this time, and we are actively working to assist them and the children and families they serve in our region.”
The Litchfield County Family Child Care Network is a special Office of Early Childhood grant-funded project supporting nearly 30 family child care providers in northwest Connecticut through professional development and best practices in business. The network has created ongoing opportunities for family child care providers to connect with each other and with EdAdvance and other community-based resources and expertise to enhance the quality of their programs.
