EdAdvance Adult & Continuing Education is a state- and locally-funded program serving the following towns:

Mandated Courses
Courses in Adult Basic Education (ABE), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL), High School Completion (GED®, CDP, and NEDP), and Citizenship are FREE to residents of participating towns. Registration and placement testing is required for all mandated courses. Registration is required for ALL courses, whether in-person or online!
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESL) - Learn to speak, read, and write English, focusing on those skills needed in everyday life. Both day and evening courses will be offered at three levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced). Registration is required for all new students.
Adult Basic Education (ABE) - For adults who want to learn basic reading, writing, and math skills. You will be able to improve your life skills and prepare to enter a High School Completion program.
Citizenship - Prepares the applicant in the 3 areas of the naturalization process, including the application and documents, U.S. history and government, and reading and writing skills.
High School Completion - Three pathways are available to earn a high school diploma: the National External Diploma Program (NEDP), Credit Diploma Program (CDP), and General Education Development (GED®).
There is no tuition or materials fee for adult-mandated courses. In compliance with Connecticut General Statutes Sec. 10-71c, EdAdvance Adult & Continuing Education does not charge a fee for any textbooks or materials used in state-mandated courses (ESL, Citizenship, ABE, GED®, NEDP, and Credit Diploma).
