High School Completion Programs
EdAdvance Adult & Continuing Education provides a variety of pathways for adults pursuing a high school diploma. Our programs are designed to support a diverse population, encompassing a wide range of ages, ethnicities, language abilities, educational backgrounds, and family circumstances.

General Educational Development (GED®)
-
Four subject assessments: Mathematics, Reasoning Through Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science.
-
The test is computer-based, and you can take each subject individually.
-
With a GED®, you can apply to most colleges, universities, and vocational schools.
For test takers 17 or 18 years old: CT General Statutes, Section 10-5(a) require that individuals who are either 17 or 18 years old at the time of GED® registration must document that they have been officially withdrawn from high school. Individuals 17 years old must submit a withdrawal form dated on or after their 17th birthday with parent/guardian and school administrator signatures and must wait 6 months from the withdrawal date to test.
For test takers 21 years old or older: All test takers who are 21 years of age or older and a non-veteran must pay a one-time $13 registration fee to take the GED® test (veterans are free). This fee includes all four subject exams, any exam retakes, if necessary, and the cost of issuing a diploma upon the successful completion of all four parts of the test.
Additional GED® video resources can be found here.
