EdAdvance’s Creative & Enriching Activities Center (CEAC) is now offering after school recreation and enrichment activities for individuals ages 12 through adulthood with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
The program will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at the ACCESS Program site in Danbury. This facility is located in a quiet residential area adjacent to Wooster School and has multi-purpose activities rooms, a gymnasium for fitness and recreational activities, kitchen facilities for life skills training, and an outdoor recreation area.
Our highly-qualified Community Services staff has extensive experience in providing in-home, community, and vocational and life skills training for DDS-supported individuals. We are dedicated to delivering highly customized programs and services to assist each individual in achieving their personal and academic goals.
Our program focuses on:
- Health & Wellness - Fitness, nutrition, stress management, healthy & safe meal preparation
- Themed Recreational & Learning Activities - Nature explorations, board games, “hands-on” science experiments, etc.
- Socialization/ Teambuilding Skills - Learning to collaborate with others, positive communication, enhancing social-emotional competencies
- Fine Motor/Gross Motor Skill Development - Arts & crafts, music, chair yoga/dancing, movement etc.
