Community Services for Persons with Disabilities

Our comprehensive services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities are dedicated to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities, ages 8 and up, using a person-centered, community-based approach.

Our In Home Supports program allows individuals to maintain an independent living environment within their community. The Behavioral Supports Program (BSP) and Supported Living Program provide a caring, supportive environment in which individuals thrive and families grow together. We also offer individualized Supported Employment Services, and free transportation services to eligible Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) clients in northwestern Connecticut.

Special Education Services:

EdAdvance partners with regional school districts to provide quality specialized services and supports including customized staffing, technical assistance, consultation, professional development, and service delivery supports  to enable districts to operate more efficiently and economically. Our highly-qualified staff work collaboratively with local educational agencies to improve student outcomes, support effectiveness and strengthen community partnerships.

Special Education Programs: EdAdvance operates Special Education day programs in Danbury, Plymouth, and Torrington to meet the needs of students, families, and districts in Litchfield County, Fairfield County, and surrounding towns. EdAdvance partners with area school districts to provide cost-effective, specialized services for students with social, emotional, and behavioral conditions that significantly impact their ability to learn in traditional school settings. These programs are provided in a highly supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment, working collaboratively with students to develop the skills and attributes needed for academic and personal success.

EdAdvance offers a variety of special education and related service supports for school districts, including:  Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy; Counseling Services;  Behavioral Analyst  (BCBA) and Transition Services.  Our experienced administrative and certified teaching staff provide program development consultation, PPT planning and implementation, and technical assistance services.

EdAdvance also offers an Expelled Student Program for districts. Students who cannot return to their public school due to expulsion are able to attend this program for up to 12 hours per week. Students are offered a blended learning curriculum, supervised by certified teachers, in a supportive learning environment. EdAdvance works closely with districts to ensure students who have been expelled continue to work toward graduation requirements and successful reintegration into their local school setting once their expulsion period ends.
